"Navel of the World", the exhibition of our VISIT scholarship holder Sven Johne comes to an end with a highly topical talk.
In his works, Sven Johne deals with the social and economic transformations of our time. For the artist, eastern Germany resembles a model region. Exemplary here for Johne are "structural change," "privatization," "disenchantment with politics," "isolation," or "a shift to the right."
How did Johne perceive the region and its people in his field research and how did this influence his artistic work?
